Certified Police Officer

About the role

The City of McMinnville Police Department is seeking initiative-driven individuals with a passion for helping others. This Certified Police Officer position serves the City by protecting life and property of the citizens of McMinnville through enforcing all city statutes, ordinances, and state laws for which the Police Department is accountable.

Responsibilities

• Protect life and property by enforcing laws
• Proactively answer calls of service, work traffic, and patrol streets to deter crimes
• Able to work indoors and outdoors with the possibility of being exposed to adverse weather conditions
• Testify in court and/or legal proceedings
• Prepare and maintain reports, logs, citations, and other documentation
• Effectively communicate and respond under high-stress situations
• Serve as a liaison with citizens and law enforcement; community policing

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and a citizen of the United States
• High school diploma or equivalent
• No felony convictions
• Meet all POST standards
• Have a valid driver’s license

Pay

Starting salary of $45,000 or higher based on experience, plus holiday pay (14 days) and night shift differential.

Schedule

12-hour shifts with every other weekend off.
