Certified Pharmacy Technician Sr

About the role

UAB St. Vincent’s Blount offers a Monday - Friday schedule from 8am - 5pm.

Responsibilities

• Performs advanced pharmacy technician duties and participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Acquires clinical data to support Pharmacists.
• Captures special projects.
• Audits, quality assurance sign off with barcode scanning, controlled substance oversight, and billing including, Long Term Care (LTC) billing and Medicare D claim adjudication.
• Serves as a resource for automation technology, training & involvement with IV workflow, carousels, Pyxis, automated dispensing cabinets, troubleshooting, compounding, and robotics.
• Provides advanced cross-training for dedicated buyers, staff, operating room satellite, and retail.
• May monitor compliance with regulatory standards and be responsible for inventory and drug shortage management and optimization.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: Currently registered as a pharmacy technician by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
• Active registration will be required prior to date of hire.
• Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
