Certified Pharmacy Technician - PRN

Responsibilities

• Makes rounds and delivers labeled medications, controlled substances and pharmaceutical supplies
• Maintains accurate documentation on the Controlled Substances Administration Log on the patient care areas
• Maintains drug supply and manages inventory
• Laboratory and compounding of medications
• Provides answers to phone inquiries and refers questions to appropriate personnel
• Interprets physicians' orders and enters into the computer system
• Generates labels and fills drug orders according to physicians' orders
• Fills drug replacement orders to various departments accurately and maintains par levels
• Returns drug credits to pharmacy stock
• Aids in processing discharges and issuing credit, if necessary on all returned drugs
• Stocks shelves and notes drugs expiring or needing ordering
• Aids in the initiation, development, maintenance, and execution of rules and regulations pertaining to the professional policies set by the Pharmacy Department
• Ensures all work areas are clean, neat, and orderly
• Keeps up-to-date knowledge of the pharmacy computer system from the perspective of a user
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Pharmacy Technician License
• Current BLS/CPRE
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Hospital experience
