Certified Pharmacy Technician, Outpatient Prescription Center, Per Diem

About the role

Everyone is a caregiver at UMass Memorial Health – regardless of their title or responsibilities. This position is part of the Outpatient Pharmacy team.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily operations within the pharmacy.
• Assists in UMMMC Meds to Beds prescription intake and delivery and documents appropriately on patient medical record and pharmacy tracking report.
• Responds accurately and timely to provider inquiries about discharge prescriptions and documents accordingly on patient medical record.
• Processes prescriptions through pharmacy computer system.
• Maintains inventory by conducting daily cycle counts, receiving the order, and removing outdated items from active stock.
• Interacts with providers and provider staff to receive and clarify orders.
• Interacts with patients to update them on out of stock, insurance, or other emergent issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current license with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
• Certified by one of the national governing bodies such as PTCB, or the National Healthcareer Association ExCPT.
• Proficiency in math and knowledge and ability to use a computer.
• Positive work ethic, motivated and professional demeanor to promote teamwork in the department.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required: Current license with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
• Preferred: Certified by one of the national governing bodies such as PTCB, or the National Healthcareer Association ExCPT.
• Experience: Recent pharmacy work experience within the past 6 months preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency in math.
• Knowledge and ability to use a computer.

Pay

The final offer may vary within the range of $19.21 - $34.59 based on experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Schedule

Holidays - Every Other Holiday, Monday through Friday, Saturday
Scheduled Hours per diem schedule, rotating shifts between the hours of 6:45am and 7pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays 8:30am-5pm
Shift 4 - Mixed Shift, 8 Hours (United States of America)
