Certified Pharmacy Technician Lead

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Retail Specialty performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains workflow, inventory, billing and other complex pharmacy processes. Additionally, they have ownership of a specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and directs pharmacy workflow including receiving and transcribing orders; answering phones; selling prescriptions; nonsterile compounding; and managing and maintaining automation.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory.
• Teaches other pharmacy technicians specialized job skills in order to support workplace learning.
• Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees.
• Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 7 years
• Licensure/Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an "advanced pharmacy technician certification" within 12 months of starting the role.
