Position Highlights
Vanderbilt University Hospital is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the Inpatient Central Pharmacy!
Hours are Monday - Friday rotating between 5:00am - 1:30pm and 6:00am - 2:30pm. Every third weekend rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
- Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control.
- Performs activities as directed by Pharmacists and/or Pharmacy Managers in accordance with federal, state and local laws/regulations and hospital policies.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
Technical Capabilities
- Pharmaceutical Computer Literacy (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrated basic understanding of computers or successfully completed training for applications supporting medication use processes.
- Pharmaceutical Drug Preparation, Dispensing & Distribution (Novice): Fundamental proficiency to review, prepare, dispense and distribute prescribed medications.
- Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance & Compliance (Novice): Working knowledge of rules and regulations, maintains current understanding, facilitates processes supporting rules and regulations, demonstrates knowledge of process improvement, quality assurance, and/or programs, understands principles underlying rules and regulations, demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement, supports compliance with regulations.
- Drug Inventory & Records Management (Novice): Fundamental proficiency in drug inventory and records management, maintains appropriate inventory levels of medications, collects, organizes, and/or maintains evaluations of pharmacy or patient-related information.
