About the role
As a Certified Pharmacy Technician at TriStar Horizon Medical Center, you will assist Pharmacists in all daily activities related to department workflow while adhering to established policies and procedures. This role involves the procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of medications, as well as maintaining equipment and technology necessary to fulfill job responsibilities. You will facilitate exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers and contribute to a positive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense medications accordingly.
- Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors, and complaints.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory, and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
- Monitor, record, and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
- Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Tennessee State Pharmacy Technician license required.
- PTCB Certification required.
- Hospital experience required.
