About the role
The Women's Housing Navigation shelter team is looking for Certified Peer Support Workers (CPSWs) to join their dynamic team. This role involves providing leadership and support to the Housing Support Specialist team, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, client-centered housing support services.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day operations and assist with complex cases
- Foster team development and oversee administrative functions like reporting, compliance tracking, proper documentation, and communication with leadership
- Ensure the shelter environment remains safe, trauma-informed, and client-centered
- Mentor and empower clients to advocate for their needs and rights
- Travel into the community, linking clients to resources and nurturing partnerships with community partners and landlords
Requirements
- Must be CPSW through a recognized program, such as the New Mexico Certified Peer Support Worker training program
- Lived Experience: CPSW must have a personal history of overcoming mental health or substance use challenges
- Previous experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a supportive housing setting is highly desirable
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and client management software

- Resourcefulness and the ability to think on the spot
- Strong mentoring and collaboration skills
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to documentation, meeting deadlines, and client support

Pay & Schedule
- $29 hourly, non-exempt
- Full-time rotating, day, swing nights depending on availability
- All schedules include weekends and holidays and are subject to change to support program needs as appropriate
