Certified Peer Specialist

About the role

The Certified Peer Specialist is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals in recovery from substance abuse or mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support services to clients in a confidential setting
  • Facilitate group sessions and activities that promote recovery and wellness
  • Assist clients in developing coping strategies and addressing barriers to recovery
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to monitor progress and address concerns

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in substance abuse or mental health recovery settings
  • Active certification as a Peer Specialist or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in substance abuse and mental health recovery
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills including email and internet navigation

Pay

The pay range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
