About the role
New Season Treatment Centers is seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join their team. This position offers early morning hours, competitive pay, and a range of benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, short and long term disability, a 401(k) with up to 3% matching, and a referral bonus of up to $2,000.
Responsibilities
- Assists patients in developing problem-solving skills to respond to challenging experiences in their recovery
- Models effective coping and self-help strategies and techniques to individuals or groups of patients to overcome personal fears, anxieties, urges, and triggers
- Assists/supports patients in daily decision making, resolution of minor problems, and crisis intervention as necessary
- Aids patients in identifying their personal goals and objectives for recovery and sobriety
- Aids clinic staff in a collaborative process of identifying programs and environments that are conducive to recovery
- Aids patients in creating their personal recovery plans
- Mets with patients to provide advice and support in accordance with treatment plans
- Aids/coordinates patient support groups on a regular basis
- Aids patients in obtaining and utilizing clinic-based and community-based services that support individual recovery needs
- Aids patients by identifying community resources and encouraging participation, to engage in healthy social activities, employment opportunities or provide other assistance as needed
- Observes behaviors and evidence of general well-being and discusses observations with the patient
- Aids patients in developing empowerment skills through self-advocacy
- Ensures timely and appropriate documentation as required by company, state, and federal policy
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent with the state-required Peer Recovery certification
- Certified Peer Specialist - Addictive Disease (CPS-AD) certification in the state of Georgia
Qualifications
Must have a passion for helping others recover from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Experience working with individuals in recovery is preferred but not required.

- Experience working with a multidisciplinary treatment team
