As a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, you'll serve as the liaison between clients and clinical staff, prioritizing the creation of a safe environment for individuals in recovery. This role involves assisting with intake processes, addressing client questions, and helping clients adjust to program routines. You'll observe and report changes in clients' physical or mental conditions to medical staff, ensuring their safety and well-being remain the top priority.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain healthy relationships with patients.
  • Assist with the admission process for new patients, including orientation procedures and schedules.
  • Maintain constant and clear communication during client admissions.
  • Complete timely and accurate shift reports and checklists at the end of each shift.
  • Facilitate orientation groups or meetings with patients.
  • De-escalate situations involving patients leaving treatment AMA/ACA and address other patient issues.
  • Track patient locations by completing regular que checks to ensure awareness of all patients on property.
  • Monitor family visits to ensure patient safety.
  • Assist the medical department in monitoring patients during "medication pass" times (if applicable).
  • Maintain cleanliness of all properties and office spaces, ensuring general areas are free of clutter.
  • Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
  • Exercise sound professional judgment and seek assistance as needed to manage patients effectively.
  • Protect patient privacy in accordance with organizational policies, federal and state laws, and professional standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in the mental health field (or corresponding college coursework).
  • Ability and desire to prioritize patient safety at all times.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Peer Recovery Certification.
