CERTIFIED PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN - ER

About the role

The Certified ER Technician, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients' activities of daily living and supports the overall plan of care. This role involves direct communication with and support for the healthcare team, patients, and their families or significant others.

Responsibilities

• Able to complete phlebotomy and EKG training if not a part of the core curriculum of the certification course within 90 days of hire- will be offered through the organization.
• Assists with patients' activities of daily living.
• Supports the overall plan of care.
• Maintains direct communication with and support for the healthcare team, patients, and their families or significant others.
• Contributes to the delivery of quality patient care within the organization.

Requirements

• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and have an active Patient Care Technician Certification.
• CPCT-A required.
• American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Certification required.

Special Requirements

• Rotating shifts, days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
