Certified Optician

Location: Camas – 4500 SE Columbia Palisades Drive, Camas, WA 98607

About the role

This patient‑facing position involves fitting and adjusting glasses and other eyewear based on each patient’s prescription, lifestyle, and individual needs. The Certified Optician will ensure orders are received and dispensed as prescribed, teach patients how to properly wear and care for their new eyewear, and adjust or repair current frames while delivering outstanding customer service and managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Fit and adjust glasses and other eyewear according to prescriptions and patient needs.
• Ensure orders are received and dispensed accurately.
• Teach patients proper wear and care of their new eyewear.
• Adjust or repair patients’ existing frames.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• ABO certification required.
• Minimum of three years’ experience as a dispensing or fabricating optician (preferred).
• Must obtain WA State Optician Apprentice credential if applying as an apprentice.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, optical terminology, frame styles, and lens material options (preferred).

Schedule

Monday through Friday: four 9‑hour days plus one 4‑hour day.

Pay

Hourly rate range: $27.47 – $38.46 (actual placement depends on experience).
