Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

About the role

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent care at Regency Hospital. They treat patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses, conducting individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT), monitoring patient responses, and participating in departmental and hospital education.

Responsibilities

• Conducting individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Maintaining patient safety and ensuring adherence to treatment plans.
• Moderating patient responses to treatment and adjusting treatment plans accordingly in collaboration with an OT.
• Completing necessary documentation in accordance with departmental and hospital policies.
• Participating in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.

Requirements

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certified BLS or completion within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
• Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting preferred.

Pay

$28-$40 per hour, depending on years of experience.
