About the role

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to support patient rehabilitation under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Key responsibilities include assisting in evaluations, planning and executing treatment programs, and documenting patient progress. The role involves coordinating care, communicating observations to team members, and supporting staff and student training. The COTA ensures treatment goals are met and maintains compliance with safety and confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluations and treatment planning under supervision
  • Implement treatment plans and coordinate with team members
  • Prepare documentation such as evaluation results and progress reports
  • Participate in care conferences
  • Provide training and support for interns and staff

Requirements

  • Certification as a COTA, with NBCOT certification and state licensure
  • Effective communication skills, visual acuity, and the ability to work collaboratively

Qualifications

  • Preferred 1–3 years of experience
