About the role
Aspire Senior Living Malden is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. As part of our skilled nursing facility, you will play a vital role in helping our residents achieve their full potential through personalized occupational therapy services.
Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to improve residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive function
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments, evaluations, and treatments, as directed by the occupational therapist
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including speech therapists, physical therapists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive care
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident progress and develop effective care plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatments, progress notes, and reports
- Utilize evidence-based practices and techniques to promote resident independence, safety, and well-being
Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of Missouri
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant preferred
- Experience working in long-term care or rehabilitation settings, with a focus on geriatric populations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to lift, transfer, and ambulate residents as needed; must be physically able to perform duties with minimal assistance
