Responsibilities
- Assist certified occupational therapists in the development and implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans for residents
- Conduct individualized assessments of residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify needs and goals
- Design and implement therapeutic activities and programs to improve residents' functional abilities and independence
- Provide education and instruction to residents, families, and caregivers on occupational therapy techniques and strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of treatment plans, progress notes, and resident interactions
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support
Requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) in the state of Missouri
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents with mobility and other physical needs
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
