Role Overview: The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides diagnostic evaluations and implements treatment plans under supervision to help patients improve their functional abilities, independence, and quality of life within community and clinical settings. Key Responsibilities: Assist in administering therapy programs to enhance strength, mobility, and coordination.Design and fabricate adaptive devices, splints, and equipment per physician prescriptions.Educate patients and families on self-care techniques, adaptive methods, and safety protocols.Participate in home assessments, pre-vocational activities, and support groups.Maintain accurate patient records and reports.Collaborate with occupational therapists and team members to optimize patient outcomes.Adhere to safety, infection control, resident rights, and confidentiality policies. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association.Strong supervisory, leadership, and customer service skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with adaptive equipment tools.Ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems, and communicate effectively. Qualifications & Skills: Provide therapy services for neurological, traumatic brain injury, and developmental patients.Deliver prevention, energy conservation, and safety training to patients and families.Participate in patient evaluations, treatment documentation, and interdisciplinary team activities.
