Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant Day Institute

About the role

SSM Health Day Institute is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to work in their specialized outpatient rehabilitation program. The program serves individuals recovering from traumatic injuries or illnesses who no longer require 24-hour nursing or acute rehabilitative care. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Aids in the implementation of the therapy plan of care under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
• Delegates and directs supportive personnel for assigned patients to enhance patient care services.
• Communicates with supervising occupational therapists regarding scheduled patients to identify needs for assessment and reassessment, modification of treatment plans, and other interventions requiring therapist direction.
• Participates in educating patients, families, students, coworkers, and self on various aspects of care.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in an Occupational Therapy Assistant program required.
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
