About the role

SSM Health Day Institute is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to work in their specialized outpatient rehabilitation program. The program serves individuals recovering from traumatic injuries or illnesses who no longer require 24-hour nursing or acute rehabilitative care. The position involves a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to help patients build skills and regain independence.

Responsibilities

• Aids in the implementation of the therapy plan of care under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.
• Delegates and directs support staff for assigned patients to enhance patient care services.
• Communicates with supervising occupational therapists regarding scheduled patients to identify the need for assessments, reassessments, modifications of treatment plans, and other interventions requiring therapist direction.
• Participates in educating patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in an Occupational Therapy Assistant program required.
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$24.50-36.40 based on years of experience.

Monday through Friday - 8am-4:30pm*
