About the role
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct occupational therapy rehabilitation to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Document patient progress accurately and timely
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and support staff to meet patient needs
- Follow treatment plans and chart patient responses
- Utilize therapy software for documentation and billing
- Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service
- Adhere to safety and confidentiality standards
- Make independent decisions within scope of practice
Requirements
- NBCOT certification (renewal optional)
- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
- Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
- CPR certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome
