Responsibilities
- Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, ranges of motion, and strength testing
- Coordinate with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on participants’ individual treatment plans
- Handle scheduling of participants’ treatments, clinical visits, and billing
- Document occupational therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans including but not limited to the use of devices, techniques, and activities to promote muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, and endurance, and other factors affecting independence in performing ADLs
Requirements
- Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) associate’s degree from an accredited program
- Valid California OTA license, or proof of license eligibility
- OTA knowledge necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs
