Responsibilities
- Aid in patient assessments and interviews
- Take vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight
- Perform routine procedures following established protocols
- Document medical histories including medications, treatments, and conditions
- Support ADLs including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Provide basic wound care, laboratory tests, and patient education
- Report changes in patients' health to nurses
Qualifications
- CNA Certification from an accredited program and state-approved competency exam
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- BLS CPR and first aid certification (AHA required)
- Criminal background check and drug screening clearance
- Ability to lift and move patients up to 50 pounds
- Physical capabilities to stand for long periods, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk, and perform CPR
