Certified Nursing Assistant (Weekend PRN)
About the role
This Certified Nursing Assistant will be responsible for assisting with various daily living activities, providing hygiene support, helping with mobility, administering medications, and maintaining cleanliness in the patient's living space.
Responsibilities
- Provides or assists in ADL activities such as personal hygiene, grooming, mouth, skin care, and nails.
- Assists with toileting, positioning, and transfer activities, frequent turning, and positioning of a bed-bound resident/patient.
- Assists with prescribed exercise and ROM activities as taught by the Hospice Nurse.
- Assists with light housekeeping tasks, including changing of bed linen and patient laundry.
- Feeds and assists with meals.
- Obtains temperature, pulse, and respirations as supervised by the Hospice Nurse.
- Reports any changes in resident's/patient's condition to the Hospice Nurse and relevant healthcare professionals.
- Aids in reminding patients to take medications in compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- State Certified CNA license.
- Experience in hospice or home health, preferred but not required.
- Willingness to travel.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
No prior experience necessary but one year of experience is preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor.
- Knowledge of hospice care practices and regulations.
