Certified Nursing Assistant - PRN

About the Role

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) provides routine care, ensuring the comfort and safety of residents by performing activities of daily living (ADLs) and other procedures within their scope. They maintain a clean, safe environment, utilizing communication, infection control, safety, and age-related knowledge, while collaborating with team members to support the overall mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for residents as directed by the charge nurse, encouraging participation in spiritual, social, grooming, and therapeutic activities.
• Observe, report, and record physiological, cognitive, and sensory data; assist with ADLs and delegated departmental tasks.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and report unsafe conditions; participate in educational offerings and mandatory in-services.
• Assist in orientation of new associates and volunteers; apply HIPAA regulations; communicate effectively.
• Exhibit patience and emotional maturity; treat residents with respect, uphold confidentiality, and support their participation in care plans.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current Texas CNA certification and BLS certification required.
• Previous gerontology experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, patience, emotional maturity, and teamwork abilities.

Schedule

Work is on a PRN basis, per diem as needed.
