Certified Nursing Assistant - PRN

About the Role

As a Bluegrass Care Navigators' Hospice Team member, you will be part of a team providing care and support to patients and their families who no longer receive treatments to cure their terminal illness but instead choose care to improve their comfort and quality of life. Our service allows team members to focus on one patient at a time, providing care where the patient calls home—whether that is a house, apartment, nursing home, assisted living facility, or hospital. If a patient’s care needs are too complicated for home care or require a higher level of attention, we can provide care at one of our Hospice Care Centers.

Responsibilities

• Perform various services for patients to meet their personal needs, promote comfort, and maintain a safe environment under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Observe patients and report/document these observations and the care provided.
• Understand the philosophy of hospice care and the needs of the terminally ill.
• Demonstrate empathy, tact, patience, and good personal hygiene in patient interactions.

Requirements

• At least eighteen years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Currently a State Registered Nurse Aide through the State Board of Nursing.
• Proof of completion of a recognized CNA training program.
• One year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting (preferred).
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care provided.
• Satisfactory references from previous employers.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order, insured in accordance with state/organization requirements, including personal auto liability insurance of $100,000/$300,000 in bodily injury coverage.

Employees will be expected to comply with Bluegrass Care Navigators' Employee Health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.

PRN (as needed).
