Job Summary

The CNA-Med Tech plays a crucial role within a clinical team at Hawthorne House, providing exceptional care and service to residents. The primary responsibility is administering medications accurately and ensuring residents receive necessary care and services.

Responsibilities

• Administers routinely scheduled oral and topical medications according to physician orders via scanning per policy to assigned residents
• Maintains clean and orderly equipment for medication administration
• Makes suggestions to resolve problems or streamline the medication system to Charge Nurse
• Notifies Charge Nurse of any outdates medication and any projected shortage of medications or supplies
• Reports any unusual or unwanted medication side effects to Charge Nurse
• Monitors and records vital signs according to physician orders and standards to practice
• Aids Charge Nurse in returning, re-ordering, and destroying medications per facility policy

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• Ability to interact with the computer-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
• Graduate of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and on the Maine CNA Registry
• Successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant-Medication training program
