Job Summary
As part of a strong clinical team, the CNA-Med Tech provides exceptional care and service to our residents. The primary responsibility is to administer medications to residents while ensuring they receive necessary care and services to achieve optimal health.
Responsibilities
- Administers routinely scheduled oral and topical medications according to physician orders via scanning per policy to assigned residents
- Maintains accurate documentation of all medications and treatments based on policy and best practices
- Monitors and records vital signs according to physician orders and standards
- Notifies Charge Nurse of any unusual or unwanted medication side effects
- Aids Charge Nurse in returning, reordering, and destroying medications per facility policy
- Notifies Charge Nurse of any outdated medications and projected shortages of medications or supplies
- Makes suggestions to improve the medication system
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- Ability to interact with the computer-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Graduate of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and on the Maine CNA Registry
- Successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant-Medication training program
