About the role
Nursing Assistant (NA) in a long-term care facility, providing resident-centered care during night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding
- Monitor vital signs
- Support psychosocial well-being
- Aid with transfers, repositioning, and range of motion exercises
- Document resident interactions and health status
- Assist with housekeeping and laundry
- Support wellness and recreational activities
- Communicate changes in resident conditions to nursing staff
- Provide compassionate, safe, and effective care to residents
- Ensure accurate documentation
- Support interdisciplinary team efforts
- Maintain compliance with certifications and training requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum age 16
- Current CNA certification or in the process of obtaining it
- Completion of required training and ongoing continuing education
- Knowledge of infection control policies
- Ability to perform basic health care tasks and support resident safety
- Where applicable, valid driver's license and medical clearance for driving responsibilities
