About the role
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance in a long-term care setting under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Responsibilities
- Assisting with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility tasks
- Monitoring and recording vital signs
- Supporting psychosocial needs and providing personal care
- Helping with meals, snacks, and hydration
- Documenting resident interactions and condition changes
- Collecting non-invasive specimens
- Performing housekeeping and laundry duties
- Encouraging participation in wellness and recreational activities
- Supporting infection prevention and PPE protocols
- Assisting providers and nursing staff with procedures when needed
- May involve driving responsibilities; must comply with company policies including drug screening and background checks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Minimum age of 16
- Current CNA certification or enrollment in a certification program
- Prior experience in long-term care (preferred)
- Yearly competency testing
- Continuing education
- Adherence to certification requirements
