About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance in a long-term care setting under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility tasks
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs
  • Supporting psychosocial needs and providing personal care
  • Helping with meals, snacks, and hydration
  • Documenting resident interactions and condition changes
  • Collecting non-invasive specimens
  • Performing housekeeping and laundry duties
  • Encouraging participation in wellness and recreational activities
  • Supporting infection prevention and PPE protocols
  • Assisting providers and nursing staff with procedures when needed
  • May involve driving responsibilities; must comply with company policies including drug screening and background checks

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Minimum age of 16
  • Current CNA certification or enrollment in a certification program
  • Prior experience in long-term care (preferred)
  • Yearly competency testing
  • Continuing education
  • Adherence to certification requirements
