Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Sign On Bonus
Hiring event: on-site at The Laurels of Galesburg on 8/18 from 11am–4pm. $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time hires.
About the role
The Certified Nursing Assistant cares for residents under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical/vocational nurse. This role assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct resident care, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care as applicable, oral hygiene, and feeding.
- Measure and record vital signs, weight, percentage of meal consumed, intake/output as directed.
- Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and lift equipment as applicable.
- Respond promptly to call lights, resident needs, and changes in condition; report observations to licensed nursing staff.
- Support residents’ independence and dignity while ensuring safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility procedures.
- Follow infection control, safety, and universal precaution guidelines at all times.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
- Provide postmortem care.
- Provide skin care and observe residents’ skin when giving care; report changes to licensed nurse.
- Contribute to residents’ assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.
Requirements
- High School Graduate/GED.
- Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the certification board or a graduate of a state-approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state-approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.
- Computer skills are required.
- Meets all state and federal criminal background check requirements.
