About the role

If you're a CNA who wants to do more than move from room to room checking boxes, this Neurology opportunity offers something different. Here, you'll build relationships with patients navigating complex neurological conditions, become an important part of their recovery journey, and work alongside a team that values compassionate, patient-centered care every day.

Neurology is where every patient has a story, every day looks different, and your care can make a lasting impact. If you're looking for a role in which you are truly part of the care team and not just another staff member on a busy unit, we'd love to meet you.

What makes this opportunity stand out:

  • Meaningful patient connections. Care for patients recovering from stroke, neurological illness, and other complex conditions where consistency, compassion, and attention to detail truly matter.
  • Be part of progress you can see. Celebrate milestones alongside patients as they regain strength, mobility, independence, and confidence.
  • Work with a highly collaborative team. Partner closely with nurses, therapists, providers, and support staff who value every team member's contribution.
  • Grow your skills in a specialized environment. Gain experience caring for patients with diverse neurological needs while building a strong clinical foundation.
  • Join a mission-driven organization. At PeaceHealth, we believe exceptional patient care starts with supporting and valuing our caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily care needs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and meals.
  • Help patients safely move, walk, transfer, and participate in mobility activities.
  • Take and record vital signs, fluid intake and output, and other important patient information.
  • Observe changes in a patient's condition and promptly communicate concerns to the nursing team.
  • Support treatments and basic nursing procedures within your scope of practice.
  • Offer reassurance, emotional support, and compassionate care to patients and families.
  • Keep patient rooms stocked and organized to support efficient care delivery.
  • Document care accurately in the medical record.
  • Provide occasional unit support, including answering phones, processing orders, and assisting with clerical tasks.
  • Contribute to a welcoming, respectful, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire
  • Knowledge of age-specific care principles and the ability to adapt care for each patient's unique needs

Qualifications

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Enjoy building relationships with patients and families
  • Stay calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately
  • Take initiative and work well independently while collaborating closely with teammates
  • Bring a positive, patient-first mindset to every shift
