Responsibilities

  • Aid in patient assessments and interviews
  • Take vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and weight
  • Document medical histories including medications, treatments, and conditions
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
  • Provide basic wound care, laboratory tests, patient education, and instructions
  • Report changes in patients' health to nurses
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
  • Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies
  • Answer phones, emails, and other forms of communication

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant in WY
  • Ability to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)
  • Effective interaction with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues
  • Confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Professionalism and adherence to a Code of Conduct and compliance with facility policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Criminal background check and drug screening clearance

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Lift and move patients up to 50 pounds
  • Bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances
  • Perform physically demanding tasks like CPR
  • Maintain good balance and endurance throughout a shift
