About the role
Be the calm, compassionate presence patients and families rely on during life's most difficult moments. Medical 3 is more than a medical unit. It's a place where patients are often processing a new cancer diagnosis, facing a serious illness, or navigating end-of-life care.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and daily living activities.
- Help patients safely move, walk, transfer, and reposition.
- Take and document vital signs, intake/output, and other patient information.
- Recognize and communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
- Provide comfort, reassurance, and compassionate support to patients and families.
- Support patients receiving oncology care and those facing complex medical conditions.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked patient care environment.
- Collaborate closely with nurses and other caregivers to ensure patients receive excellent care.
- Accurately document patient care activities.
- Assist with unit support responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Washington State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire through either American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
- Previous hospital, acute care, skilled nursing facility (SNF), or rehabilitation experience is preferred.
- Experience caring for medically complex patients and experience working with oncology, hospice, palliative care, or medical-surgical populations is preferred.

Pay
The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. Pay Range: $23.03 - $34.59 per hour.
