Avera Sunrise Manor – Regular, afternoon shift position.

About the role

Accountable for providing direct, personal care and services to residents in the skilled nursing facility, meeting physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs daily to maintain and improve their highest level of independent function.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving and collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights, and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Transport residents upon admission and discharge, assist with ambulation, and orient/reorient residents to ensure safety.
  • Perform vital signs: blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, and weight; document findings concisely and factually.
  • Assist residents with specific medical care activities per policy, including restorative exercises and specimen collection; assess and document completed cares.
  • Report resident status, changes in condition, pain management, and concerns to nursing staff immediately.
  • Restock supplies and maintain a clean, safe work environment, including cleaning procedures.
  • Provide emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families.
  • Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and privacy; report allegations of abuse or misappropriation of property.
  • Follow established policies for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plans, universal precautions, infection control, and hazardous/chemical communication.

Requirements

  • Active Minnesota CNA certification or enrollment in a MN CNA class ending within 30 days of application.
  • Ability to work the specified hours and perform essential job functions, including adequate visual acuity and effective communication.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
  • Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities, unless causing undue hardship.

Qualifications

  • Required: Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 days.
  • Preferred: High School diploma or GED equivalent; less than 1 year of related experience or training.

Pay

$19.75 - $26.00 per hour, dependent upon experience. Position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,000.

Schedule

Evening shift: 2 p.m. – 10:30 p.m., 24 hours per two-week pay period. Every other Friday-Saturday-Sunday only.
