Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $26.00 per hour, dependent upon experience.
Schedule
- Evening shift: 2 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
- 64 hours per two-week pay period
- Every other weekend
- Holiday rotation
About the Role
Accountable for providing direct, personal care and services to residents in the skilled nursing facility, meeting their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs daily to maintain and improve their highest level of independent function.
Responsibilities
- Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, feeding, and ambulation
- Performs routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff, such as serving and collecting food trays, answering call lights, and maintaining a clean environment
- Performs and documents vital signs: blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, and weight
- Assists residents with specific medical care activities in accordance with established policy and procedure, including restorative exercises and specimen collection
- Provides immediate feedback to nursing staff on resident status, changes in condition, pain management, and other concerns
- Assists with restocking supplies and maintaining a clean, safe work environment, including cleaning procedures
- Provides emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
- Complies with all aspects of resident rights, including confidentiality and privacy
- Reports allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of resident property
- Follows established policies and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plans, universal precautions, infection control, and hazardous communication
Requirements
- Ability to work the specified hours
- Visual acuity and communication skills adequate to perform position duties, including hearing, understanding, and distinguishing speech and other sounds
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification required within 120 days of hire (active MN CNA or enrollment in a MN CNA class ending within 30 days of applying)
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Less than 1 year of related experience or training
