Location: Fergus Falls

Part-time, unlimited (permanent) position with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs. This posting fills one current part-time vacancy. Shifts may be night/evening; the evening shift is 2:30pm-11:00pm and the night shift is 10:45pm-7:15am. Weekends as assigned, primarily on the night shift. The work schedule includes at least 64 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional hours based on business needs. Initially eligible for full employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.

About the role

Provide compassionate, person-centered care for residents in a long-term nursing facility. Assist with activities of daily living, ensure safety and quality of care, and help residents attain their highest functional capabilities in an environment that promotes caring, respect, and values the individual.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Nursing Assistant with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Nursing Assistant Registry
  • Able to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and take clear notes
  • Successful completion of a Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check (required for top finalist(s))
  • Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) prior to employment
  • Employment reference checks for all finalists

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Experience working in a long-term care environment

Pay

Salary range: $21.59 - $28.94 per hour, plus a $2.25/hour shift differential for all hours worked after 6:00pm and before 6:00am.

Schedule

  • Rotating shift: nights/evenings
  • Days of work vary; weekends as assigned, primarily on the night shift
  • At least 64 hours per two-week pay period, with potential for additional hours
