Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Human Services Technician (HST) / Part-Time, Evening Shift
About the role
The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to fill Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) positions at the Montevideo Veterans Home to admit more residents. As a CNA, you will provide compassionate, person-centered care in a long-term nursing facility.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Ensure safety and quality of care
- Help residents attain their highest functional capabilities
- Provide evening shift care, including weekends as assigned
Requirements
- Currently registered as a Nursing Assistant with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Nursing Assistant Registry
- At least 18 years of age
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and take clear notes
Preferred Qualifications
- Current registration as a Nursing Assistant with the MDH Nursing Assistant Registry
- Experience working as a certified nursing assistant
- Experience providing ADLs
- Experience working in a long-term care environment
- Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and/or Basic Life Support (BLS)

Schedule
This position is initially eligible for partial employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits. The work schedule includes at least 48 hours per 2-week pay period and may include additional hours, based on business needs. This position is primarily evening shift, with potential weekend work.
Pay
$21.59 - $28.94 / hourly PLUS $2.25/hour shift differential for all hours worked after 6:00pm and before 6:00am
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Registered as a Nursing Assistant with MDH Nursing Assistant Registry, at least 18 years of age, effective communication skills, and ability to follow instructions and take clear notes.
- Preferred qualifications: Current registration as a Nursing Assistant with MDH Nursing Assistant Registry, experience working as a certified nursing assistant, experience providing ADLs, experience working in a long-term care environment, and certification in CPR and/or BLS.
