Job Overview

Treat residents with dignity and respect at all times. Provide personal care, including bathing, oral hygiene, skin care, and assistance with toileting. Assist with grooming tasks such as shaving and nail care. Support residents during mealtimes and assist with feeding. Ensure safety by following proper body mechanics and safety measures. Assist with restorative nursing procedures and activities of daily living (ADLs). Encourage and assist residents in attending therapies and programs as prescribed by their physician. Plan and organize your tasks efficiently to meet residents’ needs. Make regular rounds and respond promptly to call lights. Observe and report any unusual symptoms, changes, accidents, or injuries to the charge nurse immediately. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided. Participate in resident care conferences and communicate effectively with the oncoming CNA and charge nurse. Maintain the cleanliness and integrity of residents' units. Handle soiled and clean linens, and residents' personal laundry, following facility policies and universal precautions. Follow established cleaning schedules for resident areas and utility rooms. Care for and clean equipment and utensils as assigned. Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges according to facility policy.

Qualifications

  • A High School education preferred.
  • Completion of a formal nursing assistant course and possession of a State-approved NA Certificate.
  • Previous experience in a nursing home setting is preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred to better serve our diverse resident population.
