About the role

Imperial a Villa Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team. The CNA helps patients/residents with comprehensive and personalized health care needs under the supervision of a nurse, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting, and exercising.

Responsibilities

  • Provides physical support for patients/residents’ daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring to/from bed, toileting, walking, standing, or exercising.
  • Turns and repositions bedridden patients.
  • Ensures proper resident/patient diet based on dietary restrictions.
  • Measures and records food and liquid intake.
  • Examines patients for open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
  • Notes and communicates patient/resident behavior and changes in mood.
  • Gathers medical supplies.
  • Cleans rooms and bed linens.
  • Checks and records vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Answers to patient calls and needs.
  • May assist patients being transported to and from appointments.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • State Certified Nursing Assistant License/Certification.
  • Current CPR certificate or ability to become certified within 90 days of employment (preferred).

Skills

  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills with nursing staff.
  • Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for various medical conditions.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Meets all health requirements as required by law.
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and facility staff.
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge with an aptitude to learn company applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling, with or without mechanical aids.
  • Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures.
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards; adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
  • May be required to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
