About the role
This facility provides direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. The role includes promoting a compassionate environment for residents and assisting with various care duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care such as grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.
- Change bed linen and maintain appropriate supplies in resident rooms.
- Ambulate and transfer residents using assistive devices and body mechanics.
- Record vital signs, weights, and measurements, and monitor residents' condition.
- Turn and position residents as necessary and prepare them for meals.
- Assist with basic aseptic and sterile techniques to prevent infections.
- Ensure proper ventilation, temperature, light, and noise control.
- Answer call lights and other resident needs promptly.
- Utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
- Support the orientation and training of new staff members.
- Attend in-service education programs to meet facility educational requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records.
- Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.
- Protect the personal property of residents.
- Adhere to attendance standards and physical demand requirements.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from state, or currently enrolled in a CNA class.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good communication skills, self-discipline, and patience.
- Genuine caring for elderly and disabled individuals.
- Compliance with resident rights and facility policies.
Qualifications
- Organized and detailed work performance.
- Familiarity with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures.
- Ability to work independently and handle emergencies.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting.
