About the role

This facility provides direct resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. The role includes promoting a compassionate environment for residents and assisting with various care duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care such as grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.
  • Change bed linen and maintain appropriate supplies in resident rooms.
  • Ambulate and transfer residents using assistive devices and body mechanics.
  • Record vital signs, weights, and measurements, and monitor residents' condition.
  • Turn and position residents as necessary and prepare them for meals.
  • Assist with basic aseptic and sterile techniques to prevent infections.
  • Ensure proper ventilation, temperature, light, and noise control.
  • Answer call lights and other resident needs promptly.
  • Utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
  • Support the orientation and training of new staff members.
  • Attend in-service education programs to meet facility educational requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records.
  • Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.
  • Protect the personal property of residents.
  • Adhere to attendance standards and physical demand requirements.

Requirements

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from state, or currently enrolled in a CNA class.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Good communication skills, self-discipline, and patience.
  • Genuine caring for elderly and disabled individuals.
  • Compliance with resident rights and facility policies.

Qualifications

  • Organized and detailed work performance.
  • Familiarity with Standard Precautions, Exposure Control Plan, Fire Drill and Evacuation Procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and handle emergencies.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks involving sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting.
