Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Help maintain personal hygiene and comfort
  • Monitor prescribed medications according to the care plan
  • Monitor medication schedules and document any changes
  • Document assessment and align goals with the Person-Centered Treatment Plan within the EHR (Electronic Health Record) system
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality
  • Affirm safe movement within the home
  • Prepare meals based on dietary requirements
  • Encourage proper nutrition and hydration
  • Regularly check vital signs (such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature)
  • Report any significant changes promptly
  • Engage in conversations and provide emotional comfort
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment
  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), crisis intervention and medication administration using agency-trained protocols
  • Maintain current state-mandated training and certifications
  • Housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying up, and organizing
  • Ensure a clean and safe living space

Qualifications, Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a certified nursing assistant training program and a valid CNA license certification required
  • At least one year of experience as a certified nursing assistant preferred
  • Ability to adapt to various home environments
  • Effective communication with individuals and their families
  • Ability to work evening, weekend and holiday hours according to the team model and an on-call rotation will be required as necessary
  • Non-profit human service experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
  • Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook preferred
  • Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record
