About the role

This Certified Nursing Assistant will be responsible for providing compassionate care to hospice patients, assisting with daily living activities, and supporting their comfort and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provides or assists in ADL activities: personal hygiene, grooming, mouth, skin care, and nails.
• Assists with toileting, positioning, transfer activities, and frequent turning of bed-bound patients.
• Assists with prescribed exercise and range-of-motion (ROM) activities as taught by the Hospice Nurse.
• Performs light housekeeping of the patient’s personal unit or room, including changing bed linens and patient laundry as needed.
• Feeds and assists patients with meals.
• Obtains and records temperature, pulse, and respirations under the supervision of the Hospice Nurse.
• Reports any changes in the patient’s condition to the Hospice Nurse (and facility nurse if applicable) and documents the information, including date, time, and recipient of the report.
• Assists or reminds the patient to take medication in compliance with regulatory and accrediting body standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• State Certified CNA license.
• Experience in hospice or home health preferred, but not required (1 year of experience preferred).
• Willingness to travel.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
