POSITION SUMMARY
- Take and record vital signs
- Assist With the answering and responding to patient call lights
- Assist staff with patient hygiene needs and personal care functions
- Linen changes and re-supply
- Run errands to other areas and departments as related to patient care
- Aid nursing staff with providing patients with nourishments
- Aid nursing staff with tasks appropriate for each patient's condition, e.g., enemas, track and records intake and output, etc.
- Aid With patient procedures as directed
- Aid nursing staff with positioning patients for procedures
- Communicate observed changes in patient's condition
- Maintain work area and assigned areas and equipment in safe sanitary condition
- Adhere to the dress code
- Comply with the attendance and punctuality policy
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education: N/A
- Minimum Experience: Demonstration of proper body mechanics, required
- Required Registration/License/Certification: Nursing Assistant Certification, BLS within 90 days of DOH/transfer
- Preferred Education: N/A
- Preferred Experience: Knowledge of medical terminology and accepted charting abbreviations preferred
- Preferred Registration/License/Certification: N/A
- Other Requirements: Ability to work both cooperatively and independently, to work efficiently under stress, to utilize sound professional judgement in establishing priorities and intervening in urgent and emergent patient care situations, Ability to promote a positive public image of the nursing unit and facility by communicating in a polite, tactful, and professional manner with patients, families. visitors, and coworkers, Required to work in areas other than those assigned
