About the role
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is an essential member of the hospice care team who works under the supervisor of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Responsibilities
- Provides personal care and support services to meet the patient’s daily needs, enhance comfort, and maintain a safe environment.
- Observes the patient’s condition and accurately reports and documents observations and the services provided.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Currently registered as a State Nurse Aide with the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Completion of a recognized Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training program.
- One year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting, preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, and accurately document care provided.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates empathy for individuals who are ill, frail, or impaired, and understands the philosophy of hospice care and the needs of the terminally ill.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order, that is insured in accordance with state minimum requirements.
