MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME is seeking an experienced part-time (24 hrs/0.60 FTE) Certified Nurse-Midwife to join our OB/GYN team. The ideal candidate will contribute to our commitment to diversity, excellence, and patient health through clinical practice, teaching, and collaboration.

About the role

The CNM will provide care in the OB Emergency Department, perform postpartum rounds and discharges, supervise labors, and attend births alongside our resident team. This is a clinical teaching position involving the education of resident physicians (OB/GYN, Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine) and medical students through clinical supervision, didactic lectures, and simulation labs. Strong interest in teaching and inter-professional collaboration is essential.

Portland is a beautiful coastal city offering urban amenities between beaches and forests. Our diverse patient population includes many foreign-born residents, and we seek a CNM with fluency and passion for caring for patients from varied backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • See OB Emergency Department patients
  • Perform postpartum rounds and discharges
  • Supervise labors and attend births with the resident team
  • Educate OB/GYN, Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine residents and medical students through clinical supervision, lectures, and simulation labs
  • Collaborate inter-professionally in a team-oriented care environment

Requirements

  • RN and CNM licensure per Maine State Board of Nursing
  • DEA number
  • Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board
  • At least three years of CNM experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching OB/GYN residents and/or other interdisciplinary learners
  • Commitment to working successfully with a diverse learner population
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial and social justice
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills

Pay

The pay range for this part-time (0.60 FTE) position is $73,899 to $95,634 annually, based on experience. Total compensation may include recruitment payments, relocation assistance, shift differentials, productivity-based incentives, quality incentives, and other premiums.
