Job Summary

The University of Colorado College of Nursing is seeking a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) or a Certified Midwife (CM) for a full time (1.0 FTE) benefited position with its Center for Midwifery (CFM) faculty practice in Aurora, CO (on the Anschutz Medical Campus).

Supervision Received

Work is performed independently under the general direction and authority of the CFM Clinical Lead(s).

Examples of Work Performed

  • Provide full scope care to the gynecologic, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient
  • Utilize limited obstetric ultrasound skills in the outpatient and inpatient setting
  • Attend monthly practice meetings and participate in a minimum of one-practice and/or College of Nursing committee
  • Participate in practice development, promotion and community outreach
  • Remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be willing and able to obtain current AMCB certification by date of hire
  • Must be willing and able to provide full scope contraceptive services and counseling on abortion services
  • Must be willing and able to obtain Colorado RN, APN, RxN licenses or applicable certified midwife professional license by date of hire
  • Must be willing and able to obtain current board certification as a midwife by date of hire
  • Must be willing and able to obtain current DEA license within 90 days of hire
  • Must be willing and able to obtain valid NPI number by date of hire
  • Must be willing and able to obtain valid Colorado Medicaid Provider number by date of hire
  • Must be willing and able to complete CAQH and all credentialing requirements prior to by date of hire
  • Must be willing and able to obtain current BLS/CPR certification by date of hire
  • Must be willing and able to actively participate in health plan contracts
  • Must be willing and able to remain credentialed by the health plans and ensure credentialing materials stay current
  • Must be willing and able to work in a normal patient care environment with some exposure to biological hazards and infectious diseases
  • Must be willing and able to work extra shifts if and when necessary to cover practice needs

Qualifications

  • Instructor: Master’s degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education. Current AMCB certification. Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license. Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.   • Senior Instructor: Master’s degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education. Current AMCB certification. Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license.   • Assistant Professor: Master’s degree in midwifery from an accredited institution of higher education. Doctoral degree in nursing, midwifery, an appropriate area of science, or a related area from an accredited institution of higher education. Current AMCB certification. Current RN, APN and RxN licensures in good standing (Any State) or applicable certified midwife professional license. Could be working toward CO clinical licenses during application process and registered with DORA-Department of Regulatory Agencies. Must have Colorado licensures by date of hire.
