About the role

The Certified Nurse Midwife will provide care to low risk women seeking obstetrical care primarily on labor and delivery as well as a supporting role in OBGYN Triage. They will manage the low-risk woman and fetus with consultation/collaborative care as appropriate, working closely with OB/GYN physicians and ancillary staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to low-risk women seeking obstetrical care primarily on labor and delivery as well as a supporting role in OBGYN Triage.
• Manage the low-risk woman and fetus with consultation/collaborative care as appropriate.
• Work closely with OB/GYN physicians and ancillary staff.
• Perform deliveries, assist physicians/training physicians with deliveries and manage the care of women during labor and delivery within established protocols, guidelines, and procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing and maintenance of state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• At least two years of experience working as a Certified Nurse Midwife.
• Completion of a Certified Nurse Midwife degree (CNM).
• National certification by either of the following certifying agencies: The American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or The American College of Certified Nurse Midwives.
• State Licensure as a CNM.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CNM program and board certification as a CNM.
• Licence or license eligible as a CNM in the State of Delaware and Maryland.
• Minimum of two years’ experience, required.
• Prescriptive Authority, DEA registration, BLS Required.
