Certified Nurse Midwife Hospitalist
About the Role
Saint Peter’s University Hospital is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) Hospitalist to provide midwifery services to inpatients in Labor & Delivery and the PET OB/GYN unit. The CNM will function independently but in collaboration with attending physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team, delivering care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients across varying shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nurse midwifery care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients.
- Provide services on rotating shifts in Labor and Delivery and the PET Unit.
- Care for intrapartum patients in Labor and Delivery, PET, and as needed by the OB/GYN physician team.

Requirements
- Graduation from an ACME-accredited nurse-midwifery education program (formerly ACNM Division of Accreditation).
- Master’s or doctoral degree.
- Current CDS and DEA certification.
- Active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (or eligibility for initial certification with requirement to obtain on first eligible cycle).
- Current active licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife in New Jersey (nurse midwife category, per the State Board of Medical Examiners).
- STABLE Program Certification preferred.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification (NRP II to be obtained during clinical orientation).
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Schedule
10- and 12-hour shifts (days and nights) with a rotating schedule.
Pay
Salary range: $128,502 – $205,608 USD (full-time). Compensation includes base salary, potential clinical certification pay, and shift differentials, determined by experience, internal equity, and market data. Exempt positions are prorated based on employment status.
