ROLE OVERVIEW And PURPOSE The Certified Nurse Midwife will oversee the care and giving of direct client services to families in all areas of maternity, newborn, and family planning according to Neighborhood Healthcare policies, procedures, and consulting with providers. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Responsibilities Provides medical care and treatment to obstetrical patients under supervision of provider, including instructing patients in prenatal and postnatal health practicesParticipates in initial examination of obstetrical patients to ensure proper care and treatment is provided, including discussing observed practices with supervising provider to prepare comprehensive care plans to ensure best outcomesExamines patients during pregnancy by using physical findings, laboratory test results, and patient statements to evaluate conditions and ensure progress is normal for patients, including recording physical findings and formulating plans/prognoses for patient conditionsEducates patients to use prenatal health and dietary practicesAdministers stipulated emergency measures and arranges immediate contact with supervising or contracted provider when deviations from standard practice are encountered during pregnancy or deliveryMaintains proper and complete medical records according to policies and proceduresOrders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needsSubmits health care plans and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by providersPrescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalations therapy, or related therapeutic proceduresRefer patients to providers for consultation or specialized health resources for treatmentsImpact patient experience by demonstrating courteous and helpful behavior and a commitment to accuracyShare accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination with care teams Qualifications Education/Experience Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program requiredCalifornia Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nursing license in good standing is requiredCurrent California DEA licensure is required and is to be maintained as a condition of employmentValid Certified Nurse Midwife certification requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved source is required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment. AHA-approved courses include an in-person, hands-on skills check with a certified instructor using a mannequin to demonstrate CPR and emergency response techniques. Online-only BLS courses without a live skills check do not meet this requirement. Pay range: $124,100 - $191,000 annually, depending on experience. Compensation Disclosure: The posted salary range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, Budgetary considerations and organizational needs. As a result, placement within the range is not guaranteed, and the full pay grade range may not be utilized.
